Long Island Stump & Tree helps Nassau and Suffolk County homeowners get tree removal, stump grinding and storm cleanup done by licensed, insured local contractors, with honest price ranges and town-by-town permit information up front.

Who does the work

Every job is done by a licensed and insured Long Island tree contractor from our partner network who covers your town. You get an itemized quote, you decide, and you pay the contractor directly. There's no charge to you for using this site.

What we require of contractors

• A current Nassau County and/or Suffolk County Home Improvement license. Both counties treat tree work as home improvement.
• General liability and workers' compensation insurance.
• Written, itemized quotes, and handling of town permits where required.
• Industry-standard practices: no tree topping, and utility mark-outs (811) before grinding.

Always verify the license number and ask for the insurance certificate before work starts. A good contractor won't mind.
